African Professional Women Initiative (APWI)

The African Professional Women Initiative (APWI), a non-profit generating organisation, is a vibrant and dynamic community of accomplished women from diverse backgrounds, united by shared passion for mentoring and empowering women and their younger generations, fostering a culture of leadership, confidence, and ambition. By providing guidance, support, empowerment and mentorship, APWI aims at unlocking the potentials of Africa's next generation of women leaders

Our vision is to be a leading force in shaping the future of African women, girls, and her younger generations, empowering them to become confident, innovative, and influential leaders who drive positive changes across the continent and the world at large.

Our mission is to mentor, empower, and connect African women and their younger generations through targeted programs, workshops, and initiatives that promote education, self-discovery, and personal growth, while also creating a thriving community that benefits women and their younger generations.

APWI's primary focus is on creating a supportive ecosystem that:

  • Mentors women, young girls and future generations, pairing them with experienced professional women, who provide guidance, support and inspiration.
  • Empowers through Education Works towards access to educational resources, trainings, and development opportunities tailored to their needs.
  • Fosters Confidence. We encourage self-expression, self-discovery, and confidence-building activities.
  • Promotes Leadership: Develops leadership skills and encourages women and their generations to take on leadership roles.
  • Build Networks: Creates a platform for women and younger generations to connect with peers, mentors, and role models.
